Wingback-less
Chair
Playing off of the chair’s anatomy and its connotations to the human body, I created an open back drape, dramatic skirt (with a leg slit and train), and an exaggerated and extended cabriole leg with a high heeled shoe. Using a pre-existing form, this piece is a satirical costuming of an inanimate object as a way to highlight the manufactured natures of the “feminine”.
